It was an excellent day on the Manistee (from Sharon to M-66). It wasn’t an early morning, but as we were running on “Lois time” the shuttle was 15 minutes ahead of schedule and we were in the water around 10:15. We were 6 in all - myself, Lois, Mike and Betty, Deena, and a new member of the club on her first outing, Cynthia. The river was wide and slow and perfect for an easy day of canoeing and kayaking. We had a nice lunch stop and saw a few turtles and a magnificent great blue heron fly off. After takeout and a quick cleanup, the me and Lois contingent headed to the Fife Lake Dairy Barn for some well deserved ice cream. All in all, another great day with the Traverse Area Paddle Club!
