Tuesday on the Boardman

We all gathered at Scheck's before 1pm where the three regulars were met by Mary King, Linda Pelkey, Danny Pinegar, Craig Tomes, Bob Fitch, Gerald and Susan Wilgus. The sky looked to be clearing and the temps were in the low 60's. We then shuttled most of the vehicles down to Shumsky's where Dan and Tracie were kind enough to bring us all back to our starting point. We all launched at 2pm and proceeded down the river....Nothing exciting happened and didn't see much wildlife, a Blue Heron and some of us spotted a mink running along the shore. The clouds took over and the winds picked up and this time of year we should be more concerned about the heat index but this Tuesday it was more the wind chill factor. We passed two other ladies in kayaks wearing hooded sweatshirts who were dressed appropriately?? We all arrived at Shumsky's where we packed up the boats and headed back to Scheck's for the cookout. Gerald and Susan opted out, I think because they wanted to go home and warm up? Mike, Dan and Tracie were the first to get back to Scheck's to get the fire going where Mike then had to leave for dog business. I did hear that the cookout went well, with Bob bringing beans and Linda adding watermelon to the festivities. Everyone stayed to help clean up and douse the fire...many thanks to Dan for supplying the main course!! Thank you all for taking this trip, hope to see you all again....Thanks again, Mike
