The forecast is for sunshine on Thursday, so let's go paddling!  Fall colors sould be close to their peak on the Boardman.

This is an afternoon trip; it's a wonderful time to enjoy our hometown river.  We will put in at Scheck's Campground, and paddle at a leisurely pace.  Within the first hour, we'll pass through the newly formed river that is now free-flowing, since Brown Bridge Dam was dismantled last year.  If you haven't yet been through that area, you are in for a real treat!  Takeout will be at Shumsky Road.

Don't forget to have ropes for your bow and stern, at least 10' long.  It will be cool, but with proper clothing, this should be a delightful trip.  Warm boots, gloves, hat and fleece are the order of the day.  Paddling time should be about 3 - 3.5 hours.
Note: We are planning to put in on the WEST side of the roadway, not at the usual "landing" - since we think it is too difficult for kayaks to launch at that location.  Instead, we will launch one at a time next to the large cedar tree.
