We don't paddle the Pere Marquette very often, and with only 8 watercraft permits allowed per party per day, we have reserved that number for our group. The club pays for the permits, reservation fee and shuttle. This time we'll be doing a section that we haven't been on in several years. The trip will take us from M-37 to Bowman Bridge. The distance is 11 miles and the paddling time is about 4 hours. The river is fairly easy, with a sand bottom all the way. If the mood strikes us, there will be swim breaks, plus a leisurely lunch break.
You will need a vehicle pass to park at the takeout: $5 per car if you don't already have one. The National Parks senior pass will do the trick.

It's about 75 miles from TC, so please plan accordingly. From the town of Baldwin, drive south on M-37 for 2.5 miles to the DNR access where the river crosses the highway. We will use Baldwin Canoe Rental for a shuttle service.
