July 10 Short Boardman trip

A few weeks ago, Sharon & George told John & me that they had hiked the new loop trail at Brown Bridge Quiet Area, and they were curious to see what it was like from water level.  They moved here after the dam was taken out, so we told them all about the removal in 2012 - and the awful crossing we had to do when the pond was there.  So we chose a day that we were all free, and did a short afternoon trip starting at Scheck's Campground.  We saw two guys fishing, but nobody else, even at the accesses.  We did see several birds, including a red-tailed hawk.  It was really neat to show S&G a gorgeous spot that's only 20 minutes from home!
