6 River Sweep - W/ The Sturgeon River Sweepers

This small group of dedicated local paddlers have started their own 501
organization to keep the Sturgeon clean.  It is not easy.

This year we had a swimmer who found lots of stuff we would have
never even seen including 3 tires, lots of glass, a paddle, 2 iPhones.
credit cards, clothing and some hand bags plus lots more.

Here are the photos that I got in our section.

Respectfully submitted,

Norm Fred

Report From The Boyne River Contingent

On August 18, 2018, three members of the Traverse Area Paddle Club joined a
group in Boyne City at the Veterans Park.  The first part of our paddle
on the Boyne River was through a cedar swamp.  This was a very clean
stretch of the river.  Later, we found the usual items along the bank
and in the water.  This group from Boyne City regularly cleans this stretch
of the Boyne River.  We had a great time on this beautiful Saturday.

Our thanks to Adam Kennedy of Boyne City for leading this cleanup.

Dee Crawford
