Events - Event View

This is one of the prettiest sections of the Big Manistee, with majestic scenery on both sides.  We will pass below the North Country National Scenic Trail. There is little development along the banks and the views of the hills surrounding the river should be truly spectacular.  
 

The Manistee River is almost 100 feet wide in this section, and is easily negotiated by energetic beginning paddlers as well as experienced folks.  We will stop for lunch halfway through the trip, which should total about four hours.  Be ready to shuttle by 10:30 am. Know where you are going, I don't know if there is cell phone coverage. Bring bow and stern lines, plenty of water and lunch.
