John Heiam, Lois Goldstein, Jackie Anderson, Fred Swartz, Judy Swartz, Tracie Lord, Dan Wittkopp, Anne Stevenson, and Allen Hoeft paddled from the Forks to Scheck's Saturday morning. By launching at 9:30 AM we avoided the paddlers from Ranch Rudolf, so we had the river to ourselves. It was Jackie's first river trip so John helped her to learn the basics of eddy turns, back ferries, and using the current to help turn your kayak. Fred busied himself cleaning the river. It was a very quiet and peaceful paddle. You would never know it was Cherry Festival and 4th of July weekend. However when we got back to US-31, we found cars backed up past the Tom's in Acme!
