What kind of boats were there?

Anything noteworthy?
We had waited for warm weather to head out to find the cans we've spotted all summer, and found them, along with shoes, bottles and other drink containers. Some of the cans had been in the river for many years, but John with his mighty spear was able to attack them with gusto. The guy never missed! It really helped to have our compadres there to spot the trash (they were picking stuff up too), especially after it began to rain hard. Nobody minded much; we all just put on raingear and continued in our quest for stuff. Jocelyn found the largest item of the day: an inflated truck inner tube that she managed to haul home for her grandsons' future enjoyment. Fortunately Brown Bridge Pond was totally calm as we crossed it, which was quite pleasant. We got to commune with the families of mergansers, trumpeter swans and loons. The river is spotless now!
