There is space available to join our conservation specialist and other local kayakers and canoeists in exploring Little Platte Lake. This is our third water tour of the year.

What is a water tour? A water tour is a guided tour of a body of water. Our conservation specialist will lead participants in exploring the Little Platte Lake. We will paddle through the main body of this shallow lake, where the entire eastern shore is undisturbed wetlands. We will observe extensive stands of native phragmites. Then, we will paddle into the creek itself, looking at wetland plants and lots of wildlife. We will look for beaver activity and discuss how they can shape our waterways.

What do I need to participate? If you have a canoe or kayak, please bring it. If you don't have one, please contact us soon and we will most likely be able to find you one to use. Same thing with a life jacket/PFD. Please dress for the weather and bring some water to drink.

What kind of experience do I need? Beginners welcome!
$5-$10 suggested donation.
