About this event

5/21 @ 7:30AM: Looks like we've got a window of opportunity from 10-1. If we park a car at Indian Hill, we could get out an hour earlier, if necessary. It's going to be colder in the morning on Thurs & 30% chance of rain, so Jocelyn & I have decided to go today. Sorry that M&M will not be able to join us since Marv has a bad cold.
Rescheduled from 5/12:
Since the week of 5/13-5/17 was full on Tues/Thurs (I bike on M/W/F morns), I have moved it out another week, so mine won't conflict with another scheduled paddle.

No need to travel far for our Spring Fling adventures! We'll watch spring arrive, the marsh marigolds, birds in flight & song, and trees blossom.

This is a narrow, shallow gravel river among cedar swamp, with lots of twists & turns, and some riffles. It takes approx 2 hrs to paddle the 7 mile stretch through Honor to Indian Hill Rd, another 1/2 hr to 45 minutes to paddle to Deadstream Rd. We will stop along the way for a short picnic lunch. Bring PFD, paddle, bow & stern lines, snack, water & appropriate clothing in a dry bag.

There will be 2 options for the take-out, depending on the wind on Platte Lake: 1) along the eastern shore of Platte Lake, or 2) up the creek. If it gets windy & rough during our 3 hr paddle, it may not be safe to paddle across the lake.

If cold rain, this trip may be cancelled.
